Training Diary

Why call it a training diary and not a training log?

Well for me a log records results from training sessions whereas a Training Diary records not only records your results but organises your training in conjunction with the rest of your life which impacts heavily on your training.

A training diary is one of the most essential training items you can have. It should include your starting measurements (height, weight, age, BMI, goals, important dates etc.)

I use a basic diary bought from the local newsagent, I then make up my training schedule, sleep and eating arrangments in a word/excel document and then transfer that into my diary.

The secret to using a training diary is that the more you use it the better results you will get. Write down how you felt in the morning, what you eat and how you felt afterwards, how you fell before training and then after, keep a track of your fluid intake, positive and negative influences etc.

All of these notes will allow you to work out your optimum physical and mental state.
