Well to say this was a trying experience is an understatement. The series of events I am about to tell you may seem trivial on their own but when put together had me wondering if someone wasn’t working against me.
Firstly the certificates I had organised to be colour photocopied didn’t get done due to their copy breaking down 30 minutes before I arrive to pick them up. No problems we can work around this I thought.
So I turn up at the Dojo 30 minutes early to set up only to be greeted by an electrician who tells me that they are cutting the power to the building. After some negotiations I get them to hold off until 6:30 so the junior break up can go ahead. Once again I can work around this.
I then start to set up the data projector only to find out it won’t power up and the correct leads aren’t with the unit anyway. Yep you guessed it I can work around this.
The student led by Dai Sempai Katherine, Nick and Warrick put their heads together and formulate some games as I rush off for the pizza. Sempai Matt lends a hand to keep everything rolling along and when I return we set up for a feast thanks to the students and their families. We then finish off the night with some trust games and a quick speech.
I want to thank the Dai Sempai’s for their support tonight you made it special for all of us. The title Dai Sempai means teachers right hand person and they certainly earnt that tonight.
Next onto our senior break up, we no longer had the dojo or data projector to watch UFC fights and instead ventured to our favourite watering hole before heading back to my place for a night of drinks and fights. I finally sent Matt on his way around 11.30 before sitting down and writing this.
Thanks to everyone for joining together to make all of the bad stuff go away. Can’t wait to see what life throws at us next year.
