Fraser Coast Zen Do Kai and BJC Muay Thai students competed last Saturday night on the Sunshine Coast. Over 30 of their fellow club mates made the trip to support them in their modified Muay Thai fights. Local junior Nick Knauseder was narrowly defeated in a split point’s decision by his Sunshine Coast opponent. Nick took the fight to his taller opponent catching him with numerous knees to the body and punches to the head. Tyson and Jonathan Byrne both won their fights convincingly using quick hands, expert grappling with knees to the body and head along with superior stamina wearing their opponents down over the three rounds and were lucky not to finish the fight early. Our third fighter of the night Chris Rada started his bout with long looping hooks and knees winning the first round however his opponent stepped up in the next two rounds pushing Chris to the limit and took the nod for the win.
